uvex Footwear Size & Width Guide | Getting the Right Fit

Getting the right uvex fit means checking length, width and the size system on the listing. Use this checklist before ordering a replacement pair or footwear for a team.

Check UK versus EU sizing

Read the selector label on the product page. A number such as 42 generally belongs to EU sizing, while a selector showing UK sizes uses a different scale. Use the manufacturer's model-specific size information rather than assuming an exact conversion.

Width is a separate choice

Some uvex models offer several width fittings. Availability differs by article. A width code and a shoe size describe different dimensions, so check both fields when the listing has separate selectors.

Replacing a pair that already fits

  1. Record the full article code from the shoe label.
  2. Record the labelled size and any width code.
  3. Compare those details with the new listing.
  4. Check whether the article or specification has changed.

Insoles and the multiple fit system

Uvex offers model-specific fitting accessories, including the uvex 1 G2 multiple fit system in narrow, standard, wide and extra-wide versions. Compatibility matters: confirm the accessory is approved for your footwear before replacing an insole.

Try footwear with your usual work socks

Check both feet, heel stability and space around the toes. A protective toe cap should not press against your toes. Avoid choosing an unsuitable length simply to compensate for a width problem.

Do all uvex styles fit the same?

Fit can differ between models and available widths. The size of your current pair is a useful starting point, but it does not guarantee the fit of another style.
